Winnipeg’s Climate Action and Resilience Committee (CARC) has received a new report calling on the city to strengthen how it communicates, tracks and implements its climate action plans as it works toward 2030 and 2050 emission targets.

The Prairie Climate Centre presented its findings at a Sept. 17 committee meeting, outlining nine tools used by other North American municipalities that could help Winnipeg increase accountability, equity and public engagement in its climate policies. The report was forwarded to council’s standing policy committee on water and waste for information.
