JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Great Scott, the Rocky Horror Picture Show is celebrating its 50th anniversary here in Jacksonville!
For over half a century, Rocky Horror has become what is considered a cult classic with an extremely loyal fan base, thanks to its raunchy humor and over-the-top musical numbers.
The film, originally based on a stage production on the West End, tells the story of Brad Majors and Janet Weiss, two lovers whose car breaks down in front of a castle home to a group of aliens led by the notorious scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter, who is in the process of making a man in a Frankenstein-like experiment.
To celebrate the film's 50th anniversary, Brad Majors star Barry Bostwick will be touring an unedited version of the film across the country, with a stop here in Jacksonvil
