King County prosecutors dropped charges last week against a murder suspect after an ongoing investigation raised questions about the 25-year-old man’s alleged involvement in the shooting.

Hakeem Dowdy had been charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the May 17 shooting outside of a nightclub in Pioneer Square that killed August Alfred Lastrappe, 24; Keilani Renae Harris, 19; and Briaun Keith Dinish-Lomelli, 27. A fourth man, who investigators believe was the target of gunfire, was injured.

“As part of the detectives’ continuing investigation of this case, information has come to light that raises questions about Mr. Dowdy’s involvement in this case as one of the shooters,” a senior deputy prosecuting attorney wrote in the motion.
