COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (KWQC) - A man has been charged for sexually assaulting a family member, deputies say.

A woman called the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday saying she isn’t able to drive and needed to get out of her home she shared with Duane Martial Crossett, 33, according to deputies.

Deputies arrived to the home in the 27000 block of 140th Street in Columbus Junction and the woman was taken to University of Iowa Hospital, deputies said.

The woman said Crossett had forced himself into the shower while she was bathing and sexually assaulted her, according to deputies. She said she told him no, but he insisted, and the woman was medically unable to fight him.

Deputies said evidence collected in the investigation confirmed the woman was sexually assaulted.
