Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) is lashing out at a fellow Republican lawmaker, Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL), and accusing him of privately threatening her, following the failure of her resolution to censure Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) earlier this week.

Mace, who has become infamous for her erratic behavior in Congress, introduced the measure after Omar criticized the beliefs of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated last week while speaking at a political event at Utah Valley University.

She also publicly called for Omar to be deported to Somalia, the lawmaker's birth country she emigrated from as a refugee at an early age — then made an obscene outburst in response to Omar stating that Mace needed rehab.

The Omar censure resolution failed by a single vote. Mills was one of four Republicans who crossed the aisle to vote against it, calling it a "First Amendment issue" — although it just so happened to come at a time when Democrats backed off their push to censure him for allegations of domestic violence, which he has denied and which a Trump-backed U.S. attorney refused to pursue earlier this year.

Mace attacked Mills on X, writing, "Coming from a guy who turned off commenting on his social media, this is rich. You voted to stifle FREE SPEECH to debate this resolution by voting to table. Massie didn't even vote to table — so, that's saying something. You also threatened me over text last night. Maybe some personal reflection is in order... Until then, spare us."

Speaking to Politico on Thursday, Mills denied threatening Mace. He said the text he sent her stated, “What would have happened if you shared the video of you condemning President Trump over J6 for free speech?”

“And so, if reminding someone of their own remarks is a threat, well, then that means everyone threatens each other every day to remind someone, ‘Hey, you voted for this, and you did this and you voted for this,’” said Mills. “This is typical, I’m sorry, but like, I respect Nancy, I like Nancy, I’ve always supported Nancy. But she’s upset that she didn’t get one thing passed because she has some back-and-forth with Ilhan that has nothing to do with me.”
