GRAND BLANC, MI – A Grand Blanc man has been federally charged with purchasing firearms for others, according to United States Attorney Jerome Gorgon Jr.

Several of the firearms that Kobe Y. Patterson, 24, allegedly purchased and gave to others were recovered from felons and crime scenes, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Patterson allegedly purchased several firearms from local dealers on behalf of others, according to the indictment.

The man allegedly claimed that he was the actual purchaser of the firearm, but it turned out to be what prosecutors call a “straw purchase.”
