SANILAC COUNTY, MI -- A 60-year-old Hawaii woman died of injuries in a collision involving a bicycle and a pickup truck in Sanilac County on Sept. 16.

The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department responded to the crash at 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, according to a news release from the county.

The crash happened at the intersection of Lakeshore Road and Downington Road in Forester Township.

Police believe the woman, who was riding a bicycle south, was struck from behind by a southbound 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, according to the release.

The Silverado was driven by a 55-year-old man.

The woman sustained “serious injuries,” according to the release, and was transported to McLaren Lapeer Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
