This year marks the 27th year of the Ponoka Community Growing Project, also known as the Ponoka Foodgrains Bank.
This year's crop is canola and the date for harvesting is set for Friday, Sept. 26, weather permitting.
Lunch will be provided at 12 p.m., followed by combining the 150 acre of canola.
Everyone is welcome. The field is located six miles north of the Ponoka Secondary Campus on Range Road 254.
If you're willing to help out with setting up, combining or with financial donations, contact Nieske Schuur at 403-704-5211 or Peter Doornenbal, 403-302-2545.
All proceeds of the Ponoka Community Growing Project are donated to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFB).
