LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A 23-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot Wednesday morning during a physical altercation with his father near Leslie, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the 1800 block of Baseline Road around 10:30 a.m. after reports of shots being fired inside a home. The caller, the man's father, told authorities he and his son had gotten into a physical fight, during which the son fired a gun inside the house.

The sheriff's office said the father was injured in the altercation but was not shot. He left the home and called 911.

When deputies arrived, they established a perimeter around the home and tried to contact the son. After receiving no response, the Special Response Team entered the home and found the 23-year-old ma
