PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Several students were arrested Thursday morning after a fight at Peoria High School.

The incident occurred around noon, which is during the school lunch period, said Demario Boon, who heads security at Peoria Public Schools.

All the boys involved could face potential charges, he said. The matter was still being reviewed and investigated. It wasn't immediately clear if any of the youths were being held in custody or released to their parents. It also wasn't immediately clear if they would face charges.

The fight happened inside the school and was caused by an outside matter, Boone said. No one was injured, though an officer had to be treated after feeling the effects of pepper spray that was used to break up the fight.
