COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- Starting Friday, drivers will not be able to stop at the westbound Huetter Rest Area on I-90 between Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene.
The Idaho Transportation Department says this year-long closure begins at 7 a.m. on Friday and applies to all non-commercial vehicles.
ITD says this closure is necessary to support construction for the I-90 expansion project. Crews will be using the area to stage equipment and materials for the project.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and use services in nearby communities such as Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls.
The eastbound Huetter Rest Area will still be open. Closures of the eastbound rest area aren't expected until 2027.
