Prime Minister Mark Carney’s launch of a Build Canada Homes agency to oversee a $13-billion commitment to building 4,000 modular homes across the country has received a cautiously optimistic reception in Elgin County.

“I would say we need housing across the spectrum and anything that helps the underhoused is a good thing,” said Doug Tarry, president of Doug Tarry Homes Ltd. in St. Thomas. “However, the devil is in the details.”
