ABC suspended "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Wednesday after comments the comedian made about Charlie Kirk's shooter.

The move comes as writers from The Atlantic prepare for a weekend of conversations about the role of journalism and free speech within the state of the world.

Ashley Parker and Jonathan Lemire are Atlantic staff writers hosting panel discussions at the event. They joined Annika Pergament on "The Rush Hour" Thursday to talk about working as a member of the press under the Trump administration.
