WEST LOOP — The West Loop is seeing major development, new businesses and declines in nearly every major crime category, city and police officials said Wednesday during the 2025 State of the West Loop meeting.

Held by community volunteer group Neighbors of West Loop, the meeting drew a crowd of about 80 residents to hear updates from Ald. Bill Conway (34th), Near West (12th) District Commander James M. Baier, 2nd District Cook County Commissioner Michael Scott and several state legislators.

Highlights included updates on pending and approved developments in the 34th Ward, in addition to 2025 crime statistics for the neighborhood boundaries of the West Loop.
