"Dark moments don't last, I feel like," Emerson told the Beacon Journal Sept. 18. "I know God won't give me anything that I couldn't bounce back from. Truthfully, this is my first surgery, first injury, and I've been playing a sport since I was four. So you got to be thankful for that. Anytime you play a sport, you could be injured.
