BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality, has issued $2.8 million dollars in grant funding from the Environmental Protection Agency.

This is to help fund water projects that will aim to make water sources throughout the state cleaner and of better quality.

Projects include the maple river watershed, the Bowman-Haley watershed, the park river watershed and more.

These funds also go to ND water education which teaches students about water resource issues such as bacteria and blue green algae.

Emilee Novak, with the North Dakota Environmental Quality says that anyone who is concerned about our state's lakes, rivers and more can apply for the grants.
