LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — After initially sending $5.4 million in refunds, NV Energy has filed paperwork to issue another $32.6 million to customers in payment for mistakes in billing, according to a Thursday news release.
The utility is also committing to hire a third party to independently review the company's response to the revelation that is misclassified rates paid by 42,000 customers in apartments and other multifamily housing dating back to 2017.
“We regret the impact this error has caused our customers," Brandon Barkhuff, NV Energy's new president and CEO, said in a statement. He replaced previous CEO Doug Cannon in May.
