CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — A University of Connecticut and Yale-led quantum technologies proposal was announced as a finalist for a multi-million dollar grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) on Thursday.

The proposal, "NSF Engine: Advancing Quantum Technologies (QuantimCT)," works to support economic growth in regions that have not fully participated in the technology boom over the past few decades, according to its website.

There are 15 finalists remaining nationally.

The winning proposals will receive an initial two-year NSF grant of up to $15 million and will be eligible for additional funding for the next eight years. The total maxumum awarded could reach $160 million over 10 years.
