LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Lexington restaurant was fined $25,000 for discriminating against a customer, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader .

The woman, a disabled veteran with a service dog, was denied service at the Oasis Mediterranean restaurant in 2023.

She filed a complaint, saying she was told to leave because she had the dog with her.

Health department regulations say it’s okay for service dogs and police dogs to be in restaurant dining rooms.

The Lexington Human Rights Commission fined Oasis earlier this week.

Oasis has 30 days to appeal it.
