Gary police investigate phone threat toward health inspectors

GARY — A threatening phone call targeting health inspectors at the Gary Health Department has prompted a full investigation by the Gary Police Department.

City officials, while not specifying the exact details of the threat, said in a news release that they are taking the incident seriously and they will "pursue appropriate action against any individual or party found to be involved."

"Our officers are actively investigating this matter and will use every resource necessary to ensure the safety of our city employees and hold those accountable who attempt to intimidate or threaten them," Chief Derrick Cannon said.
