Town of Easton, Wis. (WMTV) - One person is dead, and another was airlifted to the hospital after a fire engulfed a home in the Town of Easton Thursday, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office reported.

According to Facebook post by the Sheriff’s Office, a call came in just before 1:45a.m. for the 1000 block of Edgewood Avenue on a report of a house fire with someone possibly trapped inside.

When officials arrived at the fire, they found the house engulfed in flames.

Deputies stated one person was able to escape but suffered significant injuries. That individual was airlifted to the hospital and remains in critical condition, the agency noted.

One person was found deceased in the house, the sheriff’s office stated.

Authorities did not release that person’s name.
