MESA, AZ (AZFamily) —The father of a murdered Arizona teenager has officially filed a lawsuit against an East Valley group home, alleging the facility’s negligence contributed to her death, according to court documents obtained by Arizona’s Family on Thursday.

Phillips Law Group is representing Emily Pike’s biological father, Jensen Pike, in a lawsuit against Sacred Journey, the licensed operator of the Mesa group home where Emily had lived before she was reported missing. The wrongful death complaint was filed with the state on Aug. 5.

In the court records, family members allege the group home’s negligent “actions and inactions” contributed to her death.
