PEORIA, Ill. – A teenager has been arrested in connection to a July shooting incident in Central Peoria.
The incident in question occurred in the area of Renwood and Gilbert on the evening of July 19th, where a 24-year-old was injured after he was shot during an arrangement to sell shoes.
Peoria Police says a 17-year-old male was identified as the suspect, and taken into custody without incident on Thursday.
A loaded firearm that was reported stolen was allegedly found during a search by police.
The 17-year-old was arrested on numerous weapons charges; Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm Under 21.
He was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
