A wildfire discovered Thursday on the edge of Stamp River Provincial Park is now under control says the BC Wildfire Service.
Located north of Port Alberni, the wildfire sparked just east of the Stamp River and west of Beaver Creek Road.
The wildfire is 0.009 hectares in size and is not expected to spread further through the 327-hectare provincial park and the surrounding area, says BCWS.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and currently there are no current restrictions for this area at this time.
This wildfire comes a day after local fire crews and BCWS responded to a fire in a forested area of Roger Creek near Port Alberni.
That wildfire is also considered “under control” as of Thursday.
