KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - A Kansas deputy has been charged with murder after an inmate in his jail died by suffocation.
The Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office has revealed that Richard Fatherley, 32, has been charged with murder in the second degree in the death of Charles Adair .
The Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to KCTV5 that Fatherley is currently employed as a deputy. He has been on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of his criminal charge.

The complaint filed in the Wyandotte County District Court indicated that Fatherley “unintentionally, but recklessly” killed Adair.
