COLUMBIA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Drug overdose deaths have dropped across the country and in South Carolina.

But law enforcement warns the trend might not stay that way, because of new drugs coming onto the market.

Federal law enforcement says it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly why drug overdose deaths are going down.

But they do think public awareness – and the prevalence of reversal drugs like Narcan – play a part.
