JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) - After a statement released on Thursday, East Tennessee State University has begun a process to fire one of two professors who were placed on leave over social media posts about the death of Charlie Kirk.
Andrew Herrmann, a professor in Communication Studies and Storytelling, has decided to step away from his position and retire. Russell Brown, a behavioral neuroscientist, has been put into a termination process by the University.
Students have weighed in on the university's decision, and there are mixed opinions about the consequences the professors are facing.
