GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - A FOX Carolina investigation has uncovered hundreds of online predators convicted of having child pornography, or child sexual abuse material, did not spend any time in a state prison.

Our investigative team analyzed 417 offenders from counties in South Carolina whose cases were closed between January 2022 to January 2025.

Of those, 240 spent no time in a state prison as part of their plea. Many of these offenders were given credit for their time served in jail followed by probation. For dozens of those offenders, that time served was one day.
