OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A military experiment known as Falcon Peak 25.2 took place Thursday morning at Eglin Air Force Base.

The experiment is part of the U.S. Northern Command, which wants to find new ways to defend against unmarked enemy drones, more formally known as unmanned aircraft systems.

In December 2024, USNORTHCOM was put in charge of ensuring the Department of War is moving as a unit to eliminate unwanted drones, including the testing and development of new tools through the Falcon Peak 25.2.
