HARTFORD, Conn. — Gov. Ned Lamont is weighing a plan to use state pension funds to help keep the Connecticut Sun in the state, as competing bids raise the possibility of the WNBA franchise relocating.
A Boston group has offered more than $325 million to buy the team and move it by 2027. Another bid would keep the Sun in Connecticut, with discussions about shifting more games to Hartford's PeoplesBank Arena.

Lamont said Wednesday there are “a couple of different offers on the table and they’re still being negotiated,” adding that any purchase involving the state would go through a strict advisory board.
He stressed that private investors would be central to the deal.
