LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — Last month, we brought you the story of Ronicka Schottel, a woman from Hickman who nearly bled out from a miscarriage at her home — just a mile from Hickman’s fire station — after waiting 40 minutes for an ambulance.

Schottel and her family have taken their story to Nebraska’s Unicameral, the state Department of Health and Human Services and the Hickman Rural Fire Protection District Board.
