SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Immigrants from 47 countries became U.S. citizens on Thursday during a naturalization ceremony at the Springfield Armory, part of Constitution Week celebrations.
The ceremony, which included the national anthem and remarks from local officials, marked a significant milestone for many new Americans, including a woman from Honduras who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to become a citizen.
"I believe that this is the greatest nation that there is and it opens the door for anyone that wants to come to this country, work hard, serve the nation, serve their communities," said Gabriela Crowley Regalado, a new American from Honduras.
