MINNEAPOLIS — Farm Aid is celebrating its 40th anniversary in Minneapolis.

The one-day festival is gearing up to host around 35,000 people on Sept. 20 at Huntington Bank Stadium.

Crews arrived last weekend to start setting up and started doing events on campus on Tuesday.

"Today, we kicked off a training for farm advocates and a farm tour,” said Farm Aid Co-Executive Director Jennifer Fahy.

Fahy said there are a lot of moving parts to setting up such a large event.

“There are a million pieces,” Fahy said.

She said the festival initially started at a time of crisis. Fahy said the founders wanted to bring awareness to the issues farmers were facing.
