MARSHALL, Texas (KTAL/KMSS) — The staff at the Marshall Pet Adoption Center (MPAC) has a very special dog waiting for his forever home.
Radio, a three-year-old Staffordshire terrier mix, has had a hard life. Despite that, he is still full of energy and love.
During a call about a dog tied to a short chain, MPAC Manager Justin Serna met a two-year-old Radio. Radio's owner had other dogs she preferred and didn't want him anymore.
She also said that he had broken his leg a year earlier, but she did not take him to be treated. His left front leg is permanently turned inwards, but he still runs and plays like any other dog.
MPAC staff member Skylar Clark was so moved by his story that she wrote a poem about Radio. The poem ends:
I keep smiling. I keep hoping. One bad paw, one endless heart
