HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- The Department of Public Safety said they are investigating after a traffic stop in northeast Harris County took a deadly turn.

The incident happened on Huffman Cleveland Rd near FM 2100 on Thursday.

SkyEye was on the scene, where investigators were seen walking around a red pickup truck with the door open and a wheelchair up against the tailgate.

DPS said shortly before 1 p.m. on Thursday that a trooper pulled a man over for having an expired registration. The driver stopped and investigators said the trooper ran the driver's information.

Eyewitness News was told several warrants came up for the man, and DPS said the trooper ordered the man out of his car. The man then allegedly told police he wasn't going to jail, got out of the car, and ran before law
