SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The man who admitted to murdering his ex-wife was sentenced to 22 years to life in prison for the crime.

Timothy Taylor stabbed Tishawn Folkes-Taylor to death in May 2023 in her Pleasant Street home while three children, including two of his own, were inside. Taylor had traveled from South Carolina the day before.

Authorities said he was also wanted for the murder of his current wife, Theresa Gregg, in Brooklyn just weeks earlier. The Schenectady County District Attorney Robert Carney reflected on the sentencing calling Taylor "one of the most horrible defendants he has ever prosecuted."
