There’s a menace on the loose in Nantucket, smashing car windshields and mugging unsuspecting civilians. Also, it has wings.

Heather Woodbury, general manager at Wicked Island Bakery, was surprised to find the rear windshield of her car smashed in Wednesday morning, according to Nantucket Current . She had no idea who would do such a thing, but when Nantucket police arrived on the scene a short time later, they realized they couldn’t cuff this culprit.

The suspect, Officer Mike Mastriano said, was a seagull, the Current reported. By the look of things, it had attempted to drop a quahog from high above and crack it on the pavement for a meal, but instead, it was the windshield that ended up cracked.
