LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- Former gubernatorial candidate Ralph Rebandt will once again be running for governor, he announced Thursday.

"For the past four years, it has been a privilege to travel the state of Michigan and to observe, listen, and participate in public dialogue. I’ve gained insight into the needs and desires of the citizens of our great state, and some of the most meaningful conversations I’ve had have been with young people,” said Rebandt.

Rebandt, a Republican, previously ran for governor in 2022, where he lost the Republican primary to Tudor Dixon. After losing the primary, he sought the GOP nomination for Lt. Gov, but Dixon tapped former state representative Shane Hernandez. Dixon went on to lose the race to current Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
