PINE BLUFF, Ark. – After more than two weeks without a single reported shooting, a stretch of positive progress in Pine Bluff was broken late Wednesday night when a man was shot multiple times outside his home.

The shooting occurred just before 10 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Oak Street. Police say the victim was found in his front yard and transported to a local hospital. His condition has not yet been released.

Despite the incident, Pine Bluff police are highlighting a recent trend that reflects progress in curbing gun violence. From Sept. 1 to Sept. 14, the city reported no gunfire-related incidents—an unusual milestone for a city that has faced persistent violent crime.
