FORT SMITH, Ark. — Some members of the Fort Smith community are calling on Ward 2 Director Andre Good to step down after he walked out of Tuesday’s city board meeting during a moment of silence honoring Charlie Kirk.

At the start of the meeting, director Neal Martin asked the room to stand for a moment of silence for Kirk, who was killed Sept. 10, and for local resident Rick Murphy, who regularly attends board meetings. That’s when Good quietly exited the room, returning after the prayer ended.

Joey McCutchen, a trial lawyer and consumer advocate in Fort Smith who attended the meeting, recounted the experience to 5NEWS.
