DETROIT, Michigan — Toyota and Hyundai are recalling more than 1.1 million vehicles in the U.S. due to unrelated safety issues that could increase the risk of crashes or injuries, The Associated Press reported .
Toyota’s recall affects 591,377 vehicles across its Toyota and Lexus brands. A software malfunction in the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel may cause the display to go blank during startup or while driving, leaving drivers without access to vital information such as speed, brake alerts and tire pressure warnings, the AP said. The issue spans 15 models, including the Toyota Camry, RAV4, GR Corolla, Tacoma and Grand Highlander, as well as Lexus RX, TX and LS vehicles.
