Not many portrait unveilings include a plant swap - but it feels so right for this one.
The National Portrait Gallery is next Saturday, September 27, unveiling its first portrait of Gardening Australia host Costa Georgiadis - and everyone is invited to come see the painting and meet the man.
There will be a full day of family-friendly activities - and even a plant swap.
The Costa portrait is The People's Portrait so it makes sense the gallery is holding The People's Unveiling of the work.
Last year, the gallery invited the Australian public to identify a person who was missing from its collection by voting in The People's Portrait .
The winner, chosen from a shortlist of 25 remarkable Australians, was Costa - landscape architect, environmental educator and TV presenter.
