HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - For one night only, a longtime local restaurant was transformed into a night club.

Zippy’s Kahala was packed with people hitting the dance floor Wednesday evening.

The popular eatery teamed up with Nectar Hard Seltzer, known for its Asian-inspired flavors, to launch Nectar Radio.

The new digital music platform aims to highlight Asian and Asian-American DJs and producers through social media.

Organizers said this was the first-ever live music event held at a Zippy’s in the company’s nearly 60-year history.

Nectar co-founder Geng Wang said the company chose Zippy’s as the launch venue because “we wanted to do something that was really authentically local, and there’s nothing better than doing it at Zippy’s.”
