A child and an adult were seriously injured in a pileup car crash in Plaistow, New Hampshire, on Thursday, officials said.

Two other people were injured in the crash at the intersection of Main and Pine streets, reported about 3:43 p.m., according to the Plaistow Fire Department.

A woman was pinned in one of the three seriously damaged vehicles, fire officials said, noting it took about 40 minutes to get her out of the building on its side. Plaistow police said four vehicles were involved in total.

The seriously injured child and adult had to be flown to trauma centers. Fire officials didn't share how badly each person was injured, but said injuries ranged between life-threatening and minor.
