SALEM – Salem swept the doubles while pouncing on Bedford North Lawrence 4-1 during boys high school tennis action on Thursday.
Asher Thompson posted the lone win for the Stars (7-8) at No.2 singles. He recorded a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Brady Davis.
“He played a kid who could whack the ball,” BNL coach Ian Dillman said. “Asher has grown to be able to hit fast-paced shots and slow them down, to mess up the rhythm of his opponents.”
Salem’s Griffin Richards rolled past Jackson Corey 6-0, 6-1 at No.1 singles, while Carter Richards rebounded from a tough first set to stop Wyatt Corbin 2-6, 6-0, 6-0 at No.3.
In doubles, Carson Albertson and Landon Irwin conquered Neal Patel and Orion Hill 6-3, 6-4 at No.1. Gunner Walton and Luke Ingram handled Micah Carter and Braxton Fugate 6-1, 6-1 at No.2
