CHESTERFIELD — Parkway Central junior Maddie Schaefer picked a good time to dip into her bag of tricks Thursday night.

With the match on the line, and after a night of ripping lasers against the Seckman block, Schaefer decided to tip the ball over the net. While it didn’t land for a kill, the off-speed attack threw off the Jaguars’ defense and the ball eventually ended up in the net to end the match.

Schaefer said the play was instinct.

“I think a lot of times I just go off how many times I've hit the ball really, really hard at that point,” Schaefer said. “So, I think sometimes I can see it, sometimes I don't, but I really just go on what I think is going to catch the team the most off guard.”
