ST. LOUIS — One of the 100 protesters arrested at a demonstration on Washington University's campus in 2024 is suing the university and a Eureka Police Department officer over claims of harassment and unlawful arrest.
Kaitlyn Killgo, 36, of St. Louis, said she was arrested the night of the protest and again five months later after the Washington University Police Department, or WUPD, put a "wanted" call for her arrest to question her.
Killgo and her attorneys, Arch City Defenders, argue WUPD's use of so-called "wanteds" was unconstitutional because it lacked emergency or "need."
