Paradise Valley Police officers and detectives are actively working a drowning death investigation in the 6700 block of East Solano Drive.

"Preliminary information indicates this was an accidental drowning involving an adult," PVPD Public Information Officer Jimmy Phan said via text. "At this point in the investigation, there are no suspicious circumstances."

The incident took place Thursday.

PVPD will not be releasing the individual’s name at this time, pending next-of-kin notification, Phan said.

From Jan. 1 to Sept. 10, the website Children's Safety Zone, which monitors drowning data, reported there were 42 drowning deaths in Maricopa and Pinal counties.

Until Thursday, there had been no drowning deaths reported in Paradise Valley during that time, according to the website.
