But Logan Mauldin’s story goes beyond the x’s and o’s of a playbook.
The McNeese tight end is an author of two children’s books, both published before he was in high school. The inspiration to write came when he was just five years old.
“Me and my mom were watching a show called 20/20, and it was talking about the reading disparities in between girls and boys,” explained Mauldin. “Basically what it said was girls read better than boys because they have more reading materials geared towards their interests, and that kind of… made me a little bit upset when I was a little 5 or 6 [year old].
