BELL COUNTY, Texas — Hundreds of people gathered at the Bell County Courthouse on Thursday for a prayer vigil to honor the life of Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated Sept. 10.
“I think it’s important for communities to come together at this time and remember him for what he did,” said attendee Bryan Bass. “He took up a mantle and brought his faith to the forefront.”
“It feels amazing. My heart is very full,” said attendee Julie Murphy. “We have five churches here. Everyone is just heartbroken about what happened, and I feel like we all need to come together in community to heal.”
Vigil organizer Reagan Keith said he felt compelled to host the event not only to honor Charlie, but also to continue his mission.
